BWT was founded to meet a need for high quality basketball programs in the city of Toronto. Its founder sought the need to improve basketball programs by taking a more authentic basketball approach to the development and management of the programs. BWT was started back in January 2005 by Michael Reio. He sought a need to develop high quality basketball programs in the Toronto area. With an educational background in Kinesiology from McMaster University, sports industry experience working for the Toronto Raptors & Nike Canada, Michael decided to create more value in the basketball market. Toronto Dodgeball

Description

Dodgeball is an alternative sport requiring minimal equipment and playing experience. Teamwork and strategy are more valuable factors in dodgeball than athletic skill and individual competitiveness. The league uses a variety of safe, rubber coated foam balls and safety conscious rules. We utilize slightly modified basic Dodgeball rules which sees each game start with 6 players per side and continues until one team has eliminated the other. A player is eliminated by either being hit by the ball or having their thrown ball caught.

Description

JLSoccer.com is a soccer league based out of Toronto, Ontario, Canada which offers both indoor and outdoor leagues and pickup games throughout the Greater Toronto Area all year round. Currently, JLSoccer provides men's and women's weekly pickups, men's indoor and co-ed outdoor leagues. In the future, JLSoccer hopes to expand more in the youth market, women and men over forty-five years of age and above, by offering such activities as pickup games, training clinics and more leagues.

The league’s demand for specific positions is also taken into consideration. The Urban Adventures

Description

Adventure racing is a multi-sport endurance event that includes running/trekking, canoeing, and mountain biking. In addition, mystery challenges may be added to test the team's ability to work together and think quickly under pressure. During an adventure race, teams must follow a map to find checkpoints along the course. All checkpoints must be located in order, and the team that finds them all and reaches the finish line wins the race. Adventure racing is one of the fastest growing sports in the United States with over 10,000 athletes competing on a regular basis. In adventure racing, just finding the finish line is part of the challenge. Adventure Racing, although a relatively new sport, has been around for over 15 years. The most publicized race is the Eco Challenge televised on the Discovery Channel. We've watched in awe as teams trekked through vast jungle, paddled through Class V rapids, biked up steep mountain trails and rappelled down walls of sharp jagged rock.

TSCC Outrigger

Description

Conveniently located at the Toronto Sailing and Canoe Club , just west of Ontario Place, the TSCC Outrigger group has existed for over 10 years and regularly participates in races in Canada and the United States. Our members have excelled in many paddling events including the prestigious Liberty World Challenge, the World Masters Games, the Yukon River Quest, Queen Lil'uokalani(Hawaii), and the Texas Water Safari. Our group also hosts the Toronto Harbour International Outrigger Challenge, a 23+ km race around Toronto Island which is the largest outrigger canoe race in eastern Canada. New entry level participants are welcome.
